Hand carved 139mm Labradorite Three Owls in Tree

This beautiful carving has been skillfully fashioned in China from top grade Madagascan Labradorite Feldspar. Carefull orientation of the rough material, prior to carving, has ensured that the flashes of internal 'fire' colour (mainly blue) are clearly in evidence. Labradorite is basically dark to medium grey but refraction of incident light in the translucent crystal structure of this natural untreated stone makes it a wonder to behold.
Whilst we can pack this large carving (and mail it out) it would be prefereable if a prospective purchaser could call and see it in our showroom for personal selection and collection.

Hand carved 15cms Pair of Parrots on Branch. Labradorite

Fashioned from a single piece of high quality Madagascan Labradorite feldspar. This unique and appealing carving of a pair of parrots was an obvious subject choice for a stone that has flashes of bright blue colour emanating from within this precious gemstone. Skillfully orientated by the Chinese master craftsmen to show the colour on the breast and wings of the birds. The carving has an overall height of 150mm, a width of 120mm and a weight just under 1Kg. The detail mimics the natural texture of the birds and branch by being left unpolished and satin finished. The base hase been ground smooth so that the sculpture is free-standing.
