Showing a better natural state of preservation than our Wyoming fossil fish; these grey/cream sedimentary plaques average 8cms x 5cms and originate from Hubei Province in China. As each Oligocene (23-34 million years) period fossil fish (a type of Perch) is natural and hand-prepared they will vary from our illustration but will be very similar. An interesting new source providing an exciting addition to any collection.

The Mosasaur lived on almost every continent 70-75 million years ago during the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era. Nicknamed the 'Lizard of the Maas River' for its discovery in the Netherlands near Maastricht. Mosasaurs were the largest lizards ever to evolve with a length of almost 60 feet with a long snake like tail and flippered feet. It’s believed that the bite force of the Mosasaur was equal to that of a Tyrannosaurus rex. The Mosasaur was a true hunter and killer that had no rival during their existence.The average length of these teeth is 45mm and the overall specimen size is about 8cms with a weight of 250gms. Specimen supplied is from Khouribga Plateau in Morocco and will vary from those illustrated but will be similar.

Vertebrate fossils, amongst which are fishes, are rarely found complete and identification is often based on isolated bones or teeth.
The medium sized shark, from which this tooth (Otodus Obliquus) originates, is characterised by the large point (with no serrations) and adjacent small side points. These sharks were predominantly of the geologically 'recent' Caenozoic era (2 to 70 million years old!).
Shark's Teeth are found in locations all over the world but this one came from Maastrichtian in Morocco.
